1.   Purpose and responsibility while attending Mercer University
1.1  To recieve an upper level education while earning a Bachelor's degree from Mercer University, then to go on and receive an advanced degree.
1.2  Maximize your athletic ability, while helping your program achieve it's goals.
2.  It is our responsibilty, as coaches, to assist you with these goals by:
2.1  Monitering your academic progress, to ensure that you are progressing towards a Bachelor's degree.
2.2  Provide our student athletes with the best possible baseball education.
2.3  Create an atmosphere that is conducive to achieve all of the goals laid out above.
3. Appearance and Grooming
3.1  Athletes within this program are required to wear clothing that is clean and neat around campus.
4.  Uniform
Disciplinary Action:  1st Offense- Special Activity2nd Offense- Special Activity    3rd Offense- Suspension     4th Offense- Dismissal from Program
Why:  You represent this University, Athletic Department, Baseball program, and your family.  You will represent all these things with pride and honor.
3.6  Hats are to worn straight and forward At All Times.
3.5  Athletes in this program are not to wear apparel with other University's logos, or references to alcohol, tobacco, or drugs.
3.4  Piercings are not allowed.
3.3  Athletes in this program are required to be clean shaven at all times.  Sideburns are allowed as long as they end before the bottem of the earlobe and are neatly trimmed. 
3.2  Hair must be kept neat and clean at all times.  The definition is as follows: Hair may come down to the top of the ear and must be neatly tapered in the back.  No bleaching or radical hairstyles are permitted.
4.5 No hats are to be worn in the weight room.
4.4 Spikes must be cleaned and polished before every Friday night game.
Why:  Wearing the Mercer Uniform is a privilege and an honor.  It will be worn with pride and respect at all times.

4.3 Players are required to wear the Mercer uniform in a professional manner.
4.2 Players are required to wear proper attire while traveling with the Mercer University baseball team.
4.1 Players are required to wear proper uniform for given situation.  Proper color and year practice top will be worn to practice everyday.  This includes every piece of a uniform including belts, socks, hat, etc...
Disciplinary Action:  1st Offense- Player will be asked to fix problem.
5.  Attendance and Punctuality
5.1 Players will be on time for every function including class, study hall, practice, team meetings, games, buses, etc...
5.2 Players must notify a coach of possible conflicts prior to beginning of event.
5.4 Players are required to attend all class sessions.
5.3 Players are required to keep all scheduled appointments or take the proper steps to cancel the event prior to the set time.
5.6 Players are required to attend all student-athlete required activities.
5.5 Players are required to meet all study hall requirements on a weekly basis.
Why:  Our two primary purposes as a program are to graduate players while providing our student-athletes with the necessary skills to be successful in life which include being on time, acting responsibly, and effectively managing their time.
5.7 Preparing for an exam, paper, or project is not a valid excuse to miss a baseball game, practice, workout, or meeting.
Disciplinary Action for 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6:
1st Offense- Special Activity 2nd Offense- Suspension
3rd Offense- $500 Scholarship Reduction    4th Offense- Dismissal from Program
6.  Conduct on and off the Field
6.1 You will be expected to conduct yourself in a first class manner on campus, and in the community.  Any behavior that embarrasses this University, Athletic Department, or program will not be tolerated.
6.2 Abusive language will not be tolerated.
6.3 Baseball players are prohibited from taking part in any intramural activities.
6.6 Players are not allowed to take any drug that appears on the NCAA banned substance list.  Players are required to consult with the University training staff before ingesting any type of performance enhancing substance.  All Mercer University athletes are subject to random drug testing.  If a test turns up a positive result, the athlete will follow the Mercer University policy for a drug offense.
6.4 No player is allowed to use tobacco products of any kind while playing, practicing, traveling, or on campus.  This rule includes, but is not limited to NCAA bylaw 11.1.5.
6.5 No player is permitted to consume alcoholic beverages.
6.7 Players are not allowed to participate in any illegal activities.  If players are arrested, cited, or are involved in any illegal activates they are required to notify coaches immediately.
Why:  Our student-athletes are visible representatives of Mercer University and must behave in a manner that will properly represent all the values of excellence this institution holds dear.
Disciplinary Action:  All offenses will be dealt with on an individual basis.
7. Locker Room
7.1 Lockers remain property of Mercer University.
7.2 Lockers are to be kept within the specifications laid out in the Locker organization chart.
7.3 Locker room should be kept with pride.  This locker room is a show place for our program and athletic department and must remain neat and organized.
Why:  All players that wear the Mercer uniform will have pride in every aspect of this program and University, which starts with our baseball facilities.
7.4 Laundry must be placed in the proper receptacle.
7.5 The baseball team room is to be kept neat and clean at all times.
7.6 The television in the baseball team room must be turned off when room is unoccupied.
Disciplinary Action:  All offenses will result in a Special Activity.
8.4The indoor hitting facility at Claude Smith Complex will be kept in an orderly fashion.  The lights will be turned off when no one is using it.
8. Field
8.1Claude Smith field will be kept immaculate through the work of both the coaches and players.
8.3Players will be required to take part in work days at various times during the school year designed to assist with special maintenance projects on the Claude Smith complex.
8.2Player will be assigned responsibilities that will be carried out on a daily basis.
